GO Foundation receives cheque from SUNSTUDIOS |
Curated by Nicky Catley, Group Picture Editor at Australian Geographic, the exhibition featured 64 unique photographs by some of Australia’s most renowned photographers, whose work was sold at a discount rate to support the worthy cause.
A total of 38 works were sold, and all funds raised were donated directly to the GO Foundation which was founded by former AFL players, Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin to create opportunities for Indigenous youth through education and bespoke scholarship programs. The total raised by the 2022 exhibition will help the charity fund primary school through to tertiary students in Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra.
Luke Harrison, Head of SUNSTUDIOS:
“The exhibition provided an opportunity for Sydney to connect back into its art scene, while also giving back to the community. We’re delighted to be able to provide a platform for professional photographers to shoot out of love and passion, rather than work. We have used the exhibition as an opportunity to raise funds for a select charity each year and we were delighted to be able to partner with The GO Foundation for the latest installment of ‘This Time It’s Personal’. The organisation is doing great work in supporting Indigenous youth and building better futures with more opportunities through their scholarship program and Canon wholeheartedly supports getting behind causes that are supporting young people in Indigenous communities across the region”.
Charlene Davison, GO Foundation CEO:
“With supporters like SUNSTUDIOS, Canon Australia and all of the artists who have so generously donated their work, our joint ambition is to see GO thrive so that we can deliver on our mission to empower through education.
We know that for Aboriginal kids to thrive they need to experience, belong and feel connected to their culture so at GO culture is at the heart of what we do. Through our holistic Program, GO provides wrap around support that aims to give every Scholar their best experience of education. Our Program includes cultural and aspirational connection days, access to professional opportunities and services through our Partners and a financial scholarship. We thank everyone who has supported This Time It’s Personal for their generosity.”
